A deep love for Africa, for wildlife and for beautiful wide-open spaces lead to the foundation of The Explore & Travel Africa Company. We aim to inspire travellers to visit travel Africa, to learn about wildlife and conservation and to champion Africa to their family and friends.

Explore & Travel Africa create bespoke luxury African safaris for our guests from around the world. We work with handpicked luxury safari lodges in Africa and trustworthy suppliers to ensure that your African vacation is a remarkable trip.

Owner operated by Michelle, we live in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa and have been exploring Africa one safari at a time, fuelling our passion for Africa, its people, wildlife, and breathtaking natural beauty. Our journey has taken us to some remote and beautiful wildlife havens where we have been fortunate to have stayed in luxury safari lodges, glamping camps and mobile camping safaris all over Southern and East Africa.

Meet Michelle

Michelle Astbury lives in Cape Town, South Africa. She began her professional career as a travel agent, before realising her passion for wildlife safaris. Michelle started The Explore & Travel Africa Company to create incredible trips for like-minded travellers.

We travel to learn where to send our guests and to build relationships with our suppliers, all to ensure you have expert advice. We are in Cape Town, on the same time as all our suppliers in Africa and are on call when you travel.

Safari Specialist

We have been planning Africa safaris for many years. Family trips, solo adventures, honeymoons, multi-generational families and large groups. We use our first hand experience and know what is good!

Owner Operated

We pride ourselves in creating memories for our guests. Our owner, Michelle, is hands on with every safari booked. We will provide excellent service throughout your safari from the first phone call until you return home from Africa.
