Day by Day itinerary

Day 01 to 02 – Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a friendly representative will greet you. Enjoy a private transfer to your lodge on the outskirts of Arusha. Nestled within a coffee plantation, the Arusha Coffee Lodge preserves the charm of original plantation houses while offering luxurious, renovated accommodations. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, immersing yourself in the lush surroundings and the lodge’s elegant amenities.

Day 02 to 04 – Sanctuary Swala Camp, Tarangire

After a scrumptious breakfast, you and your private guide with hit the road! It is an easy drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the drive, marvel at the wildlife and scenic views, with the last part a game drive within the national park. Arrive at Sanctuary Swala camp, shaded by acacia trees and ancient baobabs, providing a peaceful retreat. Sanctuary Swala is located in an exceptionally private section of the Tarangire National Park, offering visitors a luxurious and exclusive safari experience. Elephants in particular love to come to the camp to drink at the water hole and big cats are often seen among the massive baobab trees.

Sanctuary Swala has been built to the highest eco-friendly standards and offers 12 luxurious open-plan and spacious canvas tents; all shaded by acacia trees and within sight of the waterhole frequented by elephants and big cats. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and features a spacious open-plan arrangement with comfortable king or twin beds and relaxing chairs. A hair dryer, ceiling fan, in-room safe, mosquito nets and private deck are available in all tents. Each tent has a personal attendant to attend to guests’ every need. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all guest tents

The main dining area, deck and library are lifted on stilts and surrounded by ancient baobab trees and the wooden decked boma boasts a canopy of stars. The camp also features a bush boutique. Electricity supply is a combination of a silent packed generator and a small solar panel set-up.

Days 04 to 06 – Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp

After breakfast in Tarangire, you and your guide will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Area and to Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, located in the heart of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. the Ngorongoro Crater is surely the eighth wonder of the natural world. Evidence suggests man has walked this area for over three million years. Today, the dramatic backdrop, together with the wealth and variety of its wildlife – some 25,000 animals – makes the crater one of the most thrilling locations to camp in.

Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp is perched in the rim valley of this amazing spectacle, providing unrivalled access to the crater below and is open throughout the year. The two large and comfortable communal tents provide a dining area where scrumptious meals are served, a lounge area perfect for afternoon relaxation, and a lounge bar where pre-dinner drinks are served. The small camp comprises just 10 classic safari tents, all with ensuite bathrooms with an indoor shower, king-size beds and feature hairdryers, in-room safes and a small sitting area in front of each of the tents where early morning coffee and biscuits can be enjoyed before starting the day of incredible game viewing. Electricity supply is a combination of a silent packed generator and inverter battery system. 

Begin your day with a warm beverage on your tent’s veranda, overlooking the majestic Ngorongoro Crater. Embark on an early morning game drive with expert guides, tracking the rich diversity of wildlife on the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon in camp, or perhaps visit a Masai village, go on a walk along the crater rim and more. 

Sixteen kilometres in diameter, the Ngorongoro Crater, often dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” is a geological marvel nestled in Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the world’s largest unbroken caldera, formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano millions of years ago. The crater floor, spanning approximately 260 square kilometres, harbours a remarkably dense population of wildlife.

Encircled by steep walls, this natural amphitheatre provides a unique haven for a diverse range of animals, including the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros. The lush grasslands, acacia forests, and the shimmering Lake Magadi within the crater create a picturesque backdrop for an incredible array of flora and fauna. Days 06 to 09 – Sanctuary Kichakani Camp, Serengeti

Transfer to Manyara airstrip for your flight to the Serengeti. Sanctuary Kichakani Camp, located amidst the Serengeti plains, awaits your arrival. The camp will be located in the Northern Serengeti from 1 June to 14 November and Southern Serengeti from 1 December to 31 March, as it moves along with the Great Wildebeest Migration.

With just ten luxury safari tents you will have the privilege of feeling closer than ever to the action and live among the migration – as it happens. Join six million hooves crossing the open plains, with more than 200,000 zebras, 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles and over a million wildebeests as they trek for fresh grazing.

The tents at Kichakani have ensuite bathrooms with indoor bucket showers, kingsize beds, and everything that makes a Sanctuary tented camp an authentic safari experience. All the tents also feature hairdryers, mosquito nets, in-room safes and a small sitting area in front of each of the tents where early morning coffee and biscuits can be enjoyed before starting the day of incredible game viewing. 

The large and comfortable communal tents provide a dining area where scrumptious meals are served, a lounge area perfect for afternoon relaxation, and lounge bar where pre-dinner drinks are served. All of the main areas include breathtaking views of the spectacular scenery and large trees surrounding this intimate camp. Embark on twice daily drives while at Sanctuary Kichakani Camp in Serengeti. The famous wildebeest migration will pass through the camp’s Northern Serengeti location. Year-round, the Serengeti houses a huge variety of animals including leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, cheetah, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, topi, eland, waterbuck, hyena, baboon, impala, African wild dog, and giraffe. The park also hosts about 500 bird species, such as ostrich, secretary bird, crowned crane, marabou stork, martial eagle, lovebirds, and many species of vultures. Key wildlife: lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard, wildebeest, and zebra.  observing giraffes, gazelles, and the spectacular movement of wildebeest and zebras. 

Serengeti National Park, spanning over 14,750 square kilometres, is renowned for its sweeping savannahs, acacia-dotted plains, and diverse wildlife. Serengeti is not merely a sanctuary; it’s a theatre of nature’s grandeur. The park hosts the famed Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals traverse the plains in search of fresh grasslands, creating one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife displays. DAY 9 | FAREWELL TANZANIA Savour a leisurely morning or opt for a final game drive before transferring to the airstrip. Fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
