When staying at River, Ivory, Narina, or Tinga Lodge, an additional night in a tree house can be reserved. We advise making reservations as early as possible because the tree house experience is a very popular choice. Your guide will drop you at the Chalky, Kingston or Tinyeleti Treehouses after your game drive. You will find a gourmet picnic dinner, cold drinks and a gorgeous view waiting. Spend the night under the stars with the night sounds serenading you as you fall asleep.

The historic Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is located on Cape Town’s buzzing Kloof Street. This national landmark was once a farmhouse that was exquisitely transformed into a place with a Victorian theme in 1912. Beautiful ensuite bathrooms, personal bars, satellite television with surround sound, air conditioning, and internet connection are all features of the luxuriously designed rooms.

Day by Day itinerary
Days 1 to 4 – Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, Cape Town
Start your Cape Town and Lion Sands Safari in the Mother City, Cape Town. Spend 3 nights at the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, a beautifully renovated Georgian-Victorian townhouse in the leafy Gardens suburb. Rooms are individually decorated with stylish and contemporary interiors. Classic and Luxury rooms and a Superior Luxury suite are available.
Spend your time exploring the Cape Peninsula, and visiting highlights like the penguins at Boulders Beach and Cape Point. Take a trip to the Cape Winelands and quaff award-winning wines.
Day 4 to 7 – Lion Sands Game Reserve, Kruger Park
You will fly from Cape Town directly to Skukuza Airport on Airlink. You will transfer a short distance from the Kruger National Park to your lodge on arrival. Offering a luxurious safari experience, you will track the Big 5 and other animals in the Kruger with your experienced guides. Spend 3 nights at one of the four Lion Sands Lodges, including 1 night’s sleep-out experience in a treehouse!
Lion Sands River Lodge
Nestled along the banks of the Sabie River, Lion Sands River Lodge is the original lodge in the family. Sophisticated, yet maintaining the traditional safari lodge atmosphere, River Lodge is bright and contemporary. Lions Sands Game Reserve is centred around River Lodge. When you arrive at the lodge, you’ll feel right at home because of the incredibly friendly staff that will make sure you have all you need while there.
Lion Sands River Lodge consists of eighteen rooms in total: eight luxury suites, six superior luxury suites and four river suites (with private plunge pools), all with their own private wooden viewing deck looking out over the Sabi River. Each luxury suite features a king-sized bed and a large en suite bathroom (superior luxury suites and river suites also have outdoor showers). All suites are air-conditioned. The communal areas and rooms are connected by wooden boardwalks.
A gym, guest pool and spa are available to enjoy as well as the MORE Gallery, where you can edit photos taken on game drive, and even print a few to take home.
Lion Sands Treehouses

Three absolutely gorgeous tree houses at Lion Sands give you a completely new perspective on the South African bush. A truly unforgettable experience is to sleep under the stars in total seclusion while taking in the sounds of the wild. The ultimate bush lodgings are the Sabi Sands Treehouses. At dusk, you’ll be brought to your tree house to enjoy a delectable picnic dinner and fully appreciate the hours of darkness.
The Chalkley Treehouse is a secure and lavish platform under the African skies, the romantic treehouse has all the 5-star comforts, but affords an experience as wild as the animals that roam beneath it. The Kingston treehouse is equipped with full bathroom and shower facilities, and Africology products to complete a sensory experience. Lion Sands Narina Lodge
Perched on stilts under a canopy of trees along the river, Narina Lodge blends in perfectly with the surroundings. Resembling a luxurious treehouse, each of the exclusive suites has private plunge pools and overlooks the river in complete privacy. Lion Sands Tinga Lodge

Stackable doors open from the bedroom and lounge areas onto the deck, so you never miss a moment of the views or animals coming to the river to drink.
