Day by Day itinerary

Day 1 to 2 – Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred by road to the beautiful Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. Located on an active coffee plantation the lodge was once the original homestead. The rooms and suites are set in the pretty gardens with the plantation surrounding it. Each luxury room boasts a fireplace and a private sitting area outside. Enjoy al fresco dining in the gardens and unwind at the pool.

‘Traders Walk’ is located within Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge and houses Shanga,
a gift shop, a Tanzanite shop and an excellent cafe. Shanga comprises of a bustling
workshop manned by community members with disabilities who create works of art
from recycled goods. You can also enjoy a bean-to-cup coffee tour through the plantation.

Days 02 to 04 – Elewana Tarangire Treetops

You will spend the morning exploring the coffee plantation and savouring a brew of delicious coffee. After lunch, you will transfer to the Arusha Airport a few minutes away for your charter flight to the Tarangire National Park. Bursting with incredible game viewing opportunities, Tarangire is a perfect place to start your African Sky Safari.

Located in the Randilen Private Conservancy on the edge of Tarangire National Park, is where you will find the magical Elewana Tarangire Treetops. Sleep in a treehouse, where the huge balconies allow for amazing views through the trees and across the park. Tarangire Treetops’ unique location in a private conservancy allows for night game drives, game walks and
Sundowners.

The main lodge treehouse is built in a huge baobab, over a thousand years old! Each of the treehouse rooms is nestled in a forest of marula and baobab. Each room offers a unique and special view, oriented to enjoy the sunset in the evening, sunrise in the morning or affording a view over the waterhole and animal trail in front of the lodge.

There is a myriad of activities available at Tarangire Treetops, from daily game drives, night drives and walking safaris to Masai village tours and boma dinners.

Days 04 to 07 – Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro

After breakfast, you will be dropped back at the airstrip for a short but scenic flight to the Lake Manyara airstrip. You will drive through the highlands to the Ngorongoro Crater, an easy and picturesque drive. The Manor at Ngorongoro is near the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, set in the lush gardens of a working coffee farm. The Manor is a collection of Cape Dutch buildings, bursting with old-world charm and glamour. Each suite has a fireplace and a private sitting area.

You will spend one morning exploring the Lake Manyara National Park, keeping your eyes open for tree-climbing lions, cheetah and more. Steeling the show are the pink flamingos found on the shores of Lake Manyara. Your afternoon at The Manor can be enjoyed at the pool, horse riding or taking a guided walk through the coffee estate.

Your next morning is an early start as you descend to the floor of the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. This natural amphitheatre boasts lakes, forests and plains with a staggering array of wildlife. Expect to see the endangered black rhino, big cats like lions and cheetah, herds of elephants and buffalo and much more. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.

Days 07 to 10 – Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp

After breakfast, you will head back to the Manyara airstrip for your charter flight to the Serengeti! The Serengeti National Park is an iconic wildlife haven, well known for incredible predator action and of course, the great wildebeest migration. This African Sky Safari uses one of two camps, depending on what time of the year you travel. This is done to ensure that you have a chance to spot the vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and other plains game as they cross the Serengeti plains.

Spend your days out on game drives with experienced and knowledgeable guides in search of the nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebra as well as black rhino, lion prides and cheetah coalitions. You will spend 3 nights in the Serengeti.

Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp is set in a remote part of northern Serengeti amongst the rugged and rocky outcrops of northern Serengeti, overlooking the Grumeti River. You will head this way from about June till late October, November. The resident hippo pods greet you on arrival at Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp, which is hidden in the rocky outcrops it is built on. Each tent offers impressive views over the plains while the main area has a great pool and dining area, both offering the same spectacular scenes. Each tent has a private viewing deck and inside sitting area and is light and spacious.

Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp is located in the central Southern Serengeti, overlooking the Moru Kopjes. You will stay at Pioneer Camp from about November through to June.

Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp perches on a rocky outcrop in the Southern Serengeti, creating stunning views across the plains. The classic safari tents are spacious with en suite bathrooms and an old-world charm about them. The main areas enjoy spectacular views and vivid sunsets. Serengeti Pioneer Camp sees the calving season of the migration from January through to March, which sees an increase in predator action.
