Day by Day itinerary

Days 01 to 03 – Nomad Kuro Tarangire

Set off on the start of your safari! Your private guide will take you along good roads, through the scenic countryside to the Tarangire National Park. You will spend 2 nights at Nomad Kuro Tarangire, a gem of a safari camp. This is an authentic luxury safari camp, with the wilds of the bush at your doorstep. Kuro is located near the Tarangire River and often has wildlife traversing through camp.

Each thatch and canvas suite are stylish, light and airy. Set under the Acacia and Kigela trees with great views over the Tarangire, each suite is ensuite with a bucket shower. The main area has a lounge and dining area that is open-sided to enjoy the surroundings.

Spend your time exploring the grasslands and swamps on game drives, in search of lions, elephants, leopards and more. Bush walks are also available. Tarangire National Park has a large concentration of wildlife which in the dry season, congregates around the river. During the dry season, hundreds of elephants are found here.

Days 03 to 05 – Nomad Entamanu Ngorongoro

After your morning game drive, you will set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The journey slowly climbs in altitude as you drive through the highlands. You will spend 2 nights at Nomad Entamanu Ngorongoro camp, uniquely set in the remote Northwestern corner of the crater rim, offering spectacular views of both the Crater and the Serengeti. A private access road ensures you are on the crater floor without queuing at the gate and can head back to camp for a relaxing lunch.

Each of the luxurious tents is elevated on wooden decks and has indoor heating, hot water showers and ensuite facilities. This gorgeous location does experience cold nights due to the altitude of the crater rim and can be windy, but the camp has made every effort to create comfort.

Take an early morning drive down to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater to view the large concentration of game found in the area. Take a walk through the highlands or visit a Maasai village for a glimpse into the unique way of life still enjoyed by the Maasai tribes.

Days 05 to 08 – Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp

Nomad’s Serengeti Safari Camp is a seasonal migration camp that will move 4 to 5 times area, following the movements of the Great Wildebeest Migration.
Depending on the time of year you travel, you will either drive to the Serengeti Safari Camp with your private guide or be dropped off at the Lake Manyara Airstrip for a charter flight to camp.

Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp is on the southern plains of the Serengeti from December through to April. This is an ideal location to catch the calving season and the dramatic predator action that follows. From May to late June or early July see the camp in the western corridor, or in the game-rich central Serengeti. This location has outstanding game viewing and when the migration crosses the Grumeti River some intense river views.

As the migration heads to the northern plains of the Serengeti, the camp will move to near the Mara or Sand Rivers, right on the border to Kenya’s Masai Mara. From late July through to November, this is the ideal spot to be as the herds cross back and forth over the Mara River. The herds turn south in November and you can find the Serengeti Safari Camp in the central Serengeti.

The safari tents are large, inviting and comfortable, with touches of luxury. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom with eco-flush toilets and safari bucket showers. The main areas have a fireplace area under the stars, with a lounge and dining area under canvas.

Spend your days tracking the herds of wildebeest, watching the big cats on the hunt and enjoying the plethora of wildlife and birdlife found in this area. You will spend 3 nights in the Serengeti before flying back to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward travel.

Suggested Upgrade – if you are travelling from July to October, you could stay at the beautiful Nomad Lamai Serengeti Camp, set on a rocky kopje with endless views. The Lamai Wedge sees over a million wildebeest crossing at the nearby Mara River. This area also has excellent year-round general game viewing and an extension to Nomad Lamai to end your safari is a great option.
