The Chobe National Park is open to the Chobe Forest Reserve, allowing freedom of movement to the game of the area. Expect to see large herds of buffalo and elephants, lions and leopards as well as a myriad of birds and other animals. Explore the river with a full-day boat safari, complete with a picnic lunch. Head off into the park on game drives with night drives possible and even take a canoe ride.

Private verandahs have plunge pools and gorgeous views. Ensuite bathrooms have an outdoor shower and soaker tub. The lodge uses solar energy to power lights. The main area has a welcoming bar area and a large pool. An outdoor boma area around a large firepit completes the wonderful safari experience.

Days 03 to 06 – Machaba Camp, Khwai Concession

From Ngoma, you will fly in a charter flight into the Okavango Delta and the private Machaba Camp. Located in the game-rich Khwai Concession on the banks if the Khwai River, Machaba Camp is a classical luxury tented camp that offers an authentic and luxurious safari under canvas.

Overlooking the Delta’s tributaries, the camp offers a front-row seat to large wildlife populations. This part of the Delta offers a huge variety of animals, with predators including lions, leopards and the African wild dogs. Explore the seasonal rivers and floodplains of the area by mokoro, walking safaris as well as exciting game drives and night drives.

This intimate camp is eco friendly and the tents are of a classic style. The tents are spacious with elegant furnishings, a private sitting area, ensuite bathrooms with running water as well as both an indoor and outdoor shower. The tents have a deck area at the front which overlooks the Khwai River and animals are known to pass by. The main areas at Machaba Camp are comfortable, with plush couches and a boma area to sit under the stars around.

Days 06 to 09 – Gomoti Plains Camp, Okavango Delta

From Machaba Camp you will fly south to the Okavango Delta and the Gomoti Plains Camp. Located in the floodplains of the Gomoti River system, Gomoti Plains is nestled under evergreen trees. Explore this private concession by daily game drives in safari 4x4s or glide along the waterways in a mokoro (seasonal). Walking safaris are always rewarding and encouraged at Gomoti. The NG32 concession is famed for outstanding wildlife, including spotting rare and endangered rhinos.

These were moved in a few years ago by Rhinos Without Borders, a collaboration effort to save rhinos from poaching in South Africa, and at the same time reintroduce them to Botswana. African wild dogs flourish at Gomoti, and the birdlife is excellent. Gomoti Plains offers seasonal motorboat trips if the water levels are high enough.

The tents at Gomoti Plains are tastefully and classically decorated and elevated on a deck that provides outstanding views over the floodplains. The deck offers a tranquil resting place to watch the Okavango Delta inhabitants pass by. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom with running water and luxury amenities. The main area had a large lounge and dining area and a large fire pit where you could enjoy the African nights.
